INTERNATIONAL SERVICE

The aim of International Service in Rotary is encourage and foster the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace among Rotarians and among the peoples of the world.

Within District 9670, the aims of this fourth Avenue of Service are demonstrated with commitment to a number of international activities: Interplast, Reaching Overseas with Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC), Wheelchairs for Kids, Operation Cleft, reconstruction activities following the devastating Indian Ocean Tsunami in December 2004 and earthquakes in Pakistan (2005) and Indonesia (2006) as well as the many programs under the RAWCS umbrella. These include Donations in Kind (DIK), Rotarians against Malaria, The East Timor Roofing Training Cooperative and Save Water Saves Lives (SWSL).

For Rotarians, there are many other ways we can be involved internationally. Please look at the information on the great range of Recreational fellowships that are available locally, or through RI. And consider involving your club in a Friendship Exchange or join the District Friendship Exchange in 2007 to Alaska.
