On the 9th of October the Charlestown Rotary Club members were encouraged to wear a silly hat to celebrate Lift the Lid on Mental Illness an Australian Rotary Health National annual fundraising day for mental health research.  As you can see from the pictures the members really got into the spirit of the fundraiser with gusto.
The wife of our guest speaker Gay Studdert selected  the hat she thought was the silliest, the prize being a Mental Health Teddy Bear which was won by past president Lynn Gray who surprised everyone by taking off his hat to reveal he had two hats the one on his head and the one printed on his forehead.
At the end of the day the members had a lot of fun, we raised awareness of mental health and a little bit of money for research.
