They may be a small Rotary club in the country of District 9670, but Narromine Rotary club has been recognised at the Centre of Volunteering Volunteer Team of the Year for the Orana region for 2021.

The nine volunteer team members of the Narromine Rotary Club run the club’s food van at local events such as races, picnics, shows and markets. Their efforts have helped to raise more than $20,000 in 2020.

The team also maintains walking tracks, bird habitats and picnic areas at the Narromine Wetlands.

The team gardens, builds shelters and picnic facilities, plants trees and removes rubbish from the important tourist and ecology attraction.

For such a small club, they do incredible things, to assist and change the lives of people in their communities.

This is the second time in a row that a Rotary club has won this award, as Rotary Club of Cobar was awarded this title last year.
